LoopiCart Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the LoopiCart mobile application ("App") or related services on loopicart.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User" or "you") and LoopiCart ("we", "us", or "our").
2. Receipt Scanner & User Verification Obligation
LoopiCart incorporates Apple VisionKit and on-device machine learning models to identify text, items, prices, transaction dates, and store totals from printed supermarket receipts.
- Assistive Nature / No Warranty of 100% Accuracy: Thermal paper degradation, fading, folds, variable camera lighting, non-standard supermarket layouts, deposits (Pfand), or promotional coupons can cause OCR errors, incorrect numbers, or omitted line items.
- Mandatory User Verification: Prior to saving any scanned receipt, you are required to inspect the extracted data on the Scanner Review screen and manually correct any misread figures or descriptions.
- Disclaimer of Financial Liability: LoopiCart accepts no liability for inaccurate price logs, misattributed expense categories, miscalculated VAT amounts, or any financial discrepancies arising from uncorrected OCR outputs.
3. Budget Pacing & Exclusion of Financial Advice
Visual progress rings and weekly pacing indicators are provided strictly as an informational and motivational organizational guide for personal grocery expenses.
- Not Certified Financial or Tax Advice: LoopiCart does not provide certified financial planning, tax accounting, legal, or investment advisory services. The App cannot be used for statutory bookkeeping or tax filings.
- No Bank Account Linkage: LoopiCart operates without direct bank account access. All balances reflect exclusively the receipts you scan or enter manually.
- Sole Liquidity Responsibility: You retain sole and exclusive responsibility for your actual account balances, financial solvency, and discretionary spending decisions. LoopiCart is not liable for budget overruns, overdraft penalties, or unfulfilled bills.
4. Smart Replenishment Suggestions & Food Safety
The "Suggested" replenishment tab uses on-device statistical heuristics to estimate purchase intervals based on past shopping cadence (e.g., milk, eggs, bread, coffee).
- No Real-time Inventory or Expiration Monitoring: LoopiCart does not monitor physical refrigerator stock levels, actual consumption rates, or manufacturer expiration dates (Best-Before Date / MHD).
- Allergens, Dietary & Medical Suitability: LoopiCart makes no representations or warranties regarding ingredient safety, food allergens, organic certifications, gluten or nut cross-contamination, or product recalls. Shoppers must independently inspect physical packaging and labels at the store.
- No Liability for Spoilage: LoopiCart accepts no responsibility for duplicate purchases, unneeded items, or food spoilage resulting from reliance on replenishment suggestions.
5. Local-First Architecture & User Backup Responsibility
LoopiCart is built on a Local-First & Zero-Account principle. All data is stored locally on your device via SwiftData.
- Zero Cloud Backups by LoopiCart: We do not operate cloud servers storing your personal expense history.
- User Backup Obligation: In the event of device loss, hardware damage, theft, OS corruption, or app uninstallation, local data cannot be recovered by LoopiCart. Preserving your records requires maintaining your own encrypted iOS backups (e.g., via Apple iCloud or Finder).
- Permanent Data Deletion: Selecting "Reset App Data" or revoking the User Agreement in App Settings permanently and irreversibly purges your local database.
6. LoopiCart Pro Subscriptions & In-App Purchases
LoopiCart provides core receipt scanning, active-month budget tracking, and manual shopping lists for free. Additional premium capabilities ("LoopiCart Pro") are available via auto-renewable subscriptions processed through Apple Media Services (In-App Purchases).

- Free Trial: Your subscription begins with a 14-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial period expires, your Apple ID account will be charged the selected subscription rate.
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing cycle.
- Account Billing: Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the price indicated above.
- Cancellation & Management: You can manage and cancel your subscriptions at any time by going to your device's Settings > [Your Apple ID Name] > Subscriptions.
- Refunds: All payments, refunds, and billing inquiries are administered directly by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. LoopiCart cannot issue direct refunds.
- Apple Standard EULA: In addition to these Terms, your use of the App is subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (Apple Standard EULA).
7. Warranty Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
(1) LoopiCart is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
(2) In no event shall LoopiCart, its creators, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages (including loss of profits, financial overspending, food waste, or lost data) arising out of your use of or inability to use the App.
(3) Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude liability for willful intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body, or health where prohibited by mandatory statutory law.
8. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law principles and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). For consumer users residing in the EU, mandatory statutory consumer protection laws of your country of residence remain unaffected.
